Lifting straps compared: cotton, silicone grip or leather?
Start with two questions: do you want padding at the wrist, and which contact surface do you prefer? This guide explains the construction of the three SQUATRAT strap models so you can compare them on the same terms.

The differences at a glance
All three models are lifting straps with a wrapping tail. This comparison covers their materials, padding and confirmed dimensions. Your preferred contact surface also depends on the feel you personally like.

Length and width refer to one strap laid flat. The 7 mm figure describes the padding on both cotton models, with and without silicone grip. This comparison does not include measured load limits or a ranking of grip performance.
What the materials mean in the construction

Cotton webbing with neoprene padding
The cotton model uses cotton webbing with a separate neoprene pad at the wrist loop. Each strap measures 60 cm long and 4 cm wide laid flat, with a 15 cm padded section and 7 mm padding thickness. The two parts occupy different positions: the webbing forms the wrapping tail, while the padding sits at the wrist. If you want a padded loop and a cotton surface without silicone grip print, this is the model to look at more closely.

This model also combines cotton webbing with neoprene wrist padding, adding a silicone grip print to the contact side. That makes its surface different from plain cotton webbing. Confirmed dimensions are 60 cm long and 4 cm wide, with a 15 cm padded section and 7 mm padding thickness. Consider it when you want the padded construction with a silicone contact surface. Cowhide leather without added padding
The leather straps use cowhide leather with no additional wrist padding, giving direct contact with the leather. At 60 cm long and 4 cm wide, their dimensions can be compared directly with the silicone-grip model; the main differences are material, surface and padding. This option is for people who prefer the direct feel of unpadded leather. The material name alone does not establish a higher load limit or longer service life.

01
Decide on padding
Both cotton versions have neoprene padding at the wrist. The cowhide version is unpadded.
02
Compare the contact surface
Choose between a cotton surface, added silicone grip print and direct leather contact. Look at each model's detail photographs.

Common selection questions
Is the cotton strap entirely cotton?
Cotton describes the webbing. The wrist padding is neoprene, and the silicone-grip model has silicone on its contact side. Comparing the individual components gives a clearer picture of the product.
What does the padding change?
Both cotton versions place a neoprene layer between the loop and the wrist. The leather model has no such layer. This lets you choose between padded and direct material contact; a material table alone cannot determine your personal fit or preferred feel.
Are grip pads another type of lifting strap?
SQUATRAT grip pads are separate suede pads at the palm. They do not have the long wrapping tail used by the straps compared here. If you want a pad at the palm, look at their shape and placement separately.
